Warehouse Shutter Safety Checklist Before Each Shift
Start with the area around the shutter. The opening, travel path, and landing area should be clear of pallets, cartons, forklifts, dock equipment, loose wrapping, and debris. A shutter must have full clearance to travel. Even a small obstruction can bend the bottom bar, damage the curtain, or cause the motor to strain.
Check the floor beneath the shutter for standing water, oil, or loose materials. Slippery surfaces raise the risk of staff falling while operating the shutter or moving loads through the doorway.
